Spectrum Free Mobile for 1 Year: Cox Customer Integration Guide

Following the acquisition of Cox Communications by Charter Communications (Spectrum), existing Cox customers can now claim 1 year of FREE Spectrum/Cox Unlimited Mobile service when bundling or maintaining home internet.

This transition offer is designed to integrate existing Cox households into the broader Spectrum network footprint while eliminating the extra line charges for a full 12 months.

How the Free 1-Year Mobile Promotion Works

The Primary Offer: Eligible Cox Internet subscribers receive 1 Unlimited Mobile line free for 12 months (a savings valued at ~$30–$40 per month).
Activation Requirements: Requires maintaining active home internet service. You can either port your existing phone number or activate a brand new line.
No Contract Lock-in: The promotion operates month-to-month without an annual contract commitment. After the initial 12 months, standard monthly rates apply unless canceled.

What Changes for Cox Customers?

Service Feature	What Changes During Transition
Current Internet & TV Rates	No immediate change. Your existing rates, contract terms, and promotional discounts remain active.
Customer Support	Customer support is fully transitioning back to 100% U.S.-based support teams.
TV App Perks	Eligible Contour TV customers will gain access to bundled streaming apps (including Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max, Paramount+, etc.) included at no extra cost.
Mobile Network	Mobile service continues using existing cellular infrastructure while progressively fully integrating under the Spectrum Mobile umbrella.

Key Eligibility Requirements

Active Internet Subscription: You must be an active subscriber to an eligible home internet plan.
New Mobile Line: The free line applies to customers adding a new mobile line or transferring an existing line from another provider (not currently enrolled in Cox Mobile).
AutoPay Enrollment: Most Spectrum/Cox promotional rates require continuous AutoPay enrollment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to replace my internet equipment immediately?

No. Your current Wi-Fi gateways, modems, and TV receivers will continue to function normally. Upgrades will only be required if you choose to transition to new Spectrum speed tiers or specific TV streaming features.

Can I add more than one mobile line?

Yes. Additional mobile lines can be added at standard monthly rates (typically starting at $30/line for Unlimited).

What happens at the end of the 12-month promotion?

After 12 billing cycles, the line transitions to the standard monthly rate (currently $30/month per line). You can modify or cancel your mobile line at any time without early termination fees.
