Key Eligibility Factors

While specific criteria vary across individual programs, standard eligibility factors for Seoul-based scholarships include:

Citizenship: Applicants and their parents must hold non-Korean citizenship (except for specific overseas diaspora tracks).
Academic Record: Strong cumulative GPA performance, typically within the top 20% of the class or an average score of 80% or higher on a percentage scale.
Age Limits: Typically under 25 years for undergraduate programs and under 40 years for graduate programs.
Language Proficiency: Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS) or Korean proficiency (TOPIK Level 3 or higher) often increases selection chances, though some programs offer a built-in preliminary Korean language training year.

Criteria Across Degree Levels

Undergraduate Applicants: Direct entry or government-sponsored pathways require high school completion or prospective graduation. Application windows generally run from September to October for the following academic year.
Graduate Applicants (Master’s & PhD): Evaluation relies heavily on past academic performance, research proposals, and recommendation letters. The primary application period opens around February to March.
