Marella is TUI's own cruise brand, and what sets it apart from most other lines is how much is built into a single fare. According to TUI's official Marella All Inclusive page, every ship in the fleet runs all-inclusive as standard, meaning meals, snacks, and drinks are already covered in what travelers pay upfront, with no onboard tab to settle at the end of the voyage.

The Fleet

Marella operates five ships: Marella Discovery, Marella Discovery 2, Marella Explorer, Marella Explorer 2, and Marella Voyager, according to TUI's fleet overview. The lineup includes both family-friendly and adults-only sailings, so travelers can choose a ship that matches who they're traveling with. Marella Explorer 2, for instance, is an adults-only ship featuring a barbecue-inspired restaurant and a champagne and prosecco bar, while Marella Voyager is the largest in the fleet, with 18 restaurants and 10 bars spread across the ship.

Cabin Types

Cabins range from simple, budget-friendly rooms up to suites with added extras. According to TUI's cabin guide, booking a cabin with Suite Service included brings perks like one continental breakfast in bed per person each week, a complimentary pressing service for up to three items, a coffee machine, slippers, a dressing gown, upgraded toiletries, and a pillow menu.

What's Included

The standard all-inclusive fare covers breakfast, lunch, and dinner across at least six eateries per ship, along with a rotating selection of drinks: draught beers, ciders, bottled and canned options, wines by the glass, standard spirits, and aperitifs. Gratuities are also folded into the fare, alongside flights and transfers for most itineraries. A Premium All Inclusive tier is available for those who want an expanded drinks lineup, including premium spirits, upgraded cocktails, and fresh juices.

Not everything is covered, though. Shore excursions carry a separate charge and typically range from roughly £20 to £150 per person depending on length and activity, according to travel site Sailawaze. Wi-Fi is also not part of the standard fare and is charged separately to the cabin account, and specialty dining venues beyond the included eateries typically come at an extra charge.

How Booking Works

Reservations can be made directly through TUI's website, where travelers select their ship, cabin type, and itinerary before choosing between the standard or Premium All Inclusive tier. Cabin upgrades or specific cabin requests can generally be made up to around 15 days before sailing, usually for a small fee, subject to availability.

FAQs

Are flights included in a Marella cruise?
Yes, for most itineraries, flights and transfers are included in the fare, though UK-departure sailings on ships like Marella Explorer and Explorer 2 don't require flights at all.

Is Wi-Fi included in the all-inclusive fare?
No, Wi-Fi is charged separately and billed to the cabin account at the onboard rate.

Can I upgrade my drinks selection?
Yes, the Premium All Inclusive tier adds premium spirits, upgraded cocktails, and fresh juices for an additional charge on top of the standard fare.

Do all ships have the same restaurants?
No, dining venues vary by ship, though each one includes a buffet-style option and at least one waiter-service restaurant with sea views.

Conclusion

Marella's appeal comes down to simplicity: once the fare is paid, meals, drinks, flights, transfers, and gratuities are already accounted for, which removes a lot of the guesswork common on other cruise lines. Extras like shore excursions, Wi-Fi, and specialty dining sit outside the standard fare, so it's worth factoring those in separately when planning a full budget for the trip.
